Hello Fellow Nerds!

I made this because:
1) It was Maria's awesome idea.
2) Maria was being annoying and wouldn't make one herself because:
a) she couldn't think of a good title and
b) she doesn't have enough "time"
3) I desperately need help with vocabulary to prepare for the lame SATs.
4) Because learning is fun!

So, I'm not exactly sure what the format is supposed to be... I think it was supposed to be one word a day? Well, I'm going to up it to two words, and maybe when I start getting really frantic before my January 24th test, I'll up it to three or four. And I'll also add an inside joke so I can make you feel like an outsider, unless, of course, you're inside. And so, I'll just flow...

I guess the best two words to start off with is the words that make up my title! Isn't it clever. (not clever enough for Maria)

Definition: ameliorate (verb) - to make or become better, more bearable, or more satisfactory; improve; meliorate
Example:

welcome
An Ameliorate Massage indulges body, mind and spirit...relaxes tension, increases circulation, improves balance, loosens congestion, stimulates the organs and cells, clears and strengthens the body.

Inside Joke: Oracle... "Your Premier Holistic & Metaphysical Magazine"
My Sentence: Amelia Bedelia always tried to ameliorate the terrible situation she created by baking yellow cream pie for her boss.

Definition:
elocution (noun) - a person's manner of speaking or reading aloud in public; the study and practice of oral delivery
Example:
Inside Joke: This idea.
My Sentence: Unfortunately, the scientist's elocution while presenting his studies on evolution was terribly dry that I fell asleep and did not gain a single ounce of knowledge.

Okay, well I guess the second word wasn't exactly the right one to choose, but oh wellzzzzzzz.
And my sentences are always pretty lame. Hopefully I'll improve. But I'm tired right now.

Now your comments must include these two words. Elaborate them, decorate them, synonimize them, write a jingle about them, or just bleckblackbloock.
Good night.

  2. 1) Camilia Jamilia donated what money she could to help end world hunger; it wasn't always a lot, but she knew each penny ameliorated the suffering by a tiny bit.

    2) The young man's poor elocution made him look hardly intelligent to most people, but those who read his writing knew he was very smart.
